Loan Escrow Assistant

Bennington State Bank (BSB) is seeking a Loan Operations team member at our Salina location. The ideal candidate will deliver superior and quality customer service and efficiency and accuracy.

The candidate for this position will be responsible for reviewing consumer and commercial escrow calculations to determine accuracy of the calculations for record set-up at origination. The candidate will analyze consumer and commercial escrow accounts and pay insurance and taxes when due. The candidate will be responsible for providing feedback to loan assistants and loan officers on new escrow loans, obtaining and paying insurance, tax and private mortgage insurance bills and providing accurate answers to questions regarding escrow information. The candidate will also be responsible for force placing flood and hazard insurance as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clerical support during the escrow process of real estate transactions including, but not limited to: opening title orders; communicating with Lenders, Realtors and Customers to obtain all necessary information for a successful transaction; after closing, obtaining funding authorization, when necessary, from Lenders; review of a file for complete signatures and notarizations; scans documents into our operating system for digital document storage; balances and disburses funds in accordance with instructions; any other tasks as required for a successful real estate transaction
  • Timely processing of transactions which adhere to bank policy and procedure
  • Assists in processing escrows with a high degree of quality, including funding/balancing, figuring, clearing prelims, and signing clients
  • Orders all necessary documents to close escrows in a timely manner (i.e., demands, loan documents, and insurance)
  • Maintains records of communication with all partners involved in escrows
  • Follows company standards and practices when processing transactions, as well as applicable state laws and guidelines
  • Informs escrow officers of any missing items or problems relevant to closing
  • Deposits any funds in a timely manner which adheres to policy and procedure
  • Returns all calls, voicemails, and emails in a timely manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Adheres to all company policies and guidelines

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field preferred (may be waived in lieu of experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lending environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in both Word and Excel computer programs
  • Basic accounting skills
  • Ability to perform at a high level of accuracy

HOURS

Full time hours. Branch hours Monday-Friday 8:00 AM -5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM -Noon. You’ll typically be working during the branch opening hours and your actual working hours will be discussed at your interview.
