Bennington State Bank and Flint Hills Bank Join

Bennington State Bank is pleased to announce the completed acquisition of Flint Hills Bank, based in Eskridge, Kansas. The completed merger expands our footprint into new Kansas markets, including Eskridge, Osage City, Hartford, and Burlingame, further strengthening our commitment to serve communities across the region.

We are excited to share that Flint Hills Bank, dba Hartford State Bank, Bank of Burlingame, and Bank of Osage City are now Bennington State Bank!

The full transition is expected to be complete by end of May or beginning of June 2026. Until then, Flint Hills Bank will continue to operate as usual, ensuring a smooth transition for all of our valued customers.

“Becoming part of Bennington State Bank is a natural next step for our organization,” said former Flint Hills Bank Chairman/CEO, Patrick F. Wiederholt. “We share a deep commitment to relationship-driven banking and the communities we serve. This partnership allows us to preserve the values our customers know and trust, while gaining the strength and resources to continue serving our employees, customers, and communities well into the future.”

“This is a meaningful opportunity for Bennington State Bank,” said President and CEO Darren Gragg. “Flint Hills Bank has built strong relationships in agricultural and rural communities that mirror our own. Bringing our organizations together allows us to invest more deeply in the markets south of Topeka, support the ag producers and local businesses who drive these communities, and continue delivering the hands-on banking experience our customers expect.”

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. We’re thrilled about this new chapter and look forward to serving you with the same care and commitment you’ve come to expect.
