Teller/Customer Service Representative

Wamego, Kansas

Bennington State Bank (BSB) is seeking a Teller/CSR team member at our Wamego location. The ideal candidate will find ways to enhance our customer banking experience by providing outstanding service with high levels of accuracy in every interaction creating a positive customer experience. The Teller/CSR has mastered all Teller duties and is a go-to person for knowledge and training.  The Teller/CSR has also learned the basic CSR function of opening Deposit Products, but may still need some guidance or direction while opening various products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves customers by completing account transactions.
  • Provides account services to customers by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, and recording night and mail deposits.
  • Sells cashier’s checks, money orders, and series e bonds.
  • Answers questions in person or on telephone and refers customers to other bank services as necessary.
  • Cross-sells bank products by answering inquiries, informing customers of new services and product promotions, ascertaining customers’ needs, and directing customers to a branch representative.
  • Opens new accounts.
  • Reconciles cash drawer.
  • Complies with bank operations and security procedures.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

PROBLEM SOLVING

The major problem the incumbent must solve is to balance the conflicting responsibility of conducting error-free transactions while providing excellent customer service in a rapid and efficient manner.  This requires a good level of concentration and an ability to be friendly with the customer while maintaining control over each transaction.  The incumbent must be able to identify unresolved teller differences.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  1. Knowledge of Windows based software.
  2. Ability to use a personal computer.
  3. Cross Selling products.
  4. Cash handling experience.
  5. High school diploma or equivalent educational experience.
  6. Previous banking experience desired but not required.

HOURS

Full time hours. Branch hours Monday-Friday 8:00 AM -5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM -Noon. You’ll typically be working during the branch opening hours and your actual working hours will be discussed at your interview.
