Bank Teller

Bennington State Bank (BSB) is seeking a Teller team member at our Salina location. The ideal candidate will deliver superior and quality customer service and efficient and accurate transaction processing.  The Teller sells the Bank’s products and services while providing customer referrals for new products and services on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates a teller’s window to serve the bank’s customers by:

• Accepting retail and/or commercial deposits, verifying cash and endorsements and giving customers their receipts
• Identifying customers and cashing checks, or referring customers to an officer for authorization to cash checks
• Accepting savings deposits and withdrawals, verifying signatures
• Places Holds and Stop Payments
• Balances cash daily
• Promotes the bank’s products and services; consistently cross-sells bank products at every opportunity
• Makes concentrated effort to solve customer problems
• Follows teller over/short policy
• Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, customers and potential customers
• Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals
• Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating the work flow
• All other duties as assigned

PROBLEM SOLVING:

Incumbent must balance the responsibility of conducting error-free transactions while providing excellent customer service in a rapid and efficient manner. This requires a good level of concentration and an ability to be friendly with the customer while maintaining control over each transaction. The incumbent must be able to identify unallocated teller differences.

PREFERRED APPLICANT WILL HAVE:

• Exceptional time management, communication, and customer service skills
• Knowledge of Windows based software and ability to use a personal computer
• Ability to offer products and solutions to meet customer’s needs and expectations
• Minimum 1 year cash handling experience

EDUCATION

• High school diploma or equivalent educational experience

HOURS

Part time hours, less than 30 hours per week. Branch hours Monday-Friday 8:00 AM -5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM -Noon. You’ll typically be working during the branch opening hours and your actual working hours will be discussed at your interview.
